Whisky "The Water of Life"

The word "whisky" comes from the Irish Gaelic word "Uisge beatha" that actually means "water of life" in Celtic language.

Scotland and Ireland have been the two countries to fight for its paternity. Although Scottish made whiskey a science, the final pattern battle won by the Irish. During Second World War, whisky lost its popularity, but it succeeded to gain it back into the times of prosperity in 1990. 

The great writer Michael Jackson started writing amazing books regarding the history of whiskey. In Greece, in beginning of 2000 the first whiskey festival in Thessaloniki has been successfully created. Generally speaking, whiskey has been adored like no other, and it ranks 1st in consumption for several years.
